Ms. Sisson was inspired by her son’s struggle with OCD and addiction to become an advocate for other families affected by these diseases. She has been a vocal supporter of the International Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Foundation, through which she has raised awareness about OCD and, in particular, dual diagnosis. Ms. Sisson has worked to expand treatment options for families in Georgia by advocating for more therapists and clinics to specialize in OCD treatment. Ms. Sisson is also on the board of OCD Georgia (an affiliate of the International OCD Foundation) and McIntosh Trail Community Service Board (a public entity that provides services for mental health, addiction and developmental disabilities).
