“I am 49 years old. I work as a nurse practitioner who specializes in geriatrics and,  hospice and palliative medicine. I was first diagnosed with OCD in 1997 at age 24. I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2006. I’ve had a long history of remissions and relapses. I’ve seen numerous psychologists, and have taken numerous mixtures of medications to treat my OCD. My latest relapse was in 2020, and this is when I started ERP, and was also diagnosed with perfectionism. I also suffer with body focused repetitive behaviors and misophonia. My OCD themes are currently taboo themes related to intrusive thoughts of a violent and sexual nature mixed with just right OCD and fear of doing therapy wrong. I struggle with groinals. My primary compulsions are mental compulsions.”
